DJ not-I Philosophy

As my handle implies, DJing isn't about me. It's about us - at a particular place and time and equipped with a sound system.

At home, i listen to all kinds of material. But in the club or café, i come with intention and a concept that can be adapted to our common context. And naturally, I'd like to enjoy the evening and have fun with you. It doesn't always work, but when it does, we hear and feel it.

I always bring more records than i need. It's a bit of a schlepp, but i'd rather be ready for anything than limited to any particular set or genre. My aim is to provide you with a balance of continuity, surprise and consistent quality.

Music for the Moment is a maxim, which, through the agency of our will, can become a universal law. Put differently, i won't disturb your conversation at the lounge, but if you're ready to bounce around in the club, so am i.
